It really is distressing to know that there are certain strong factors gone amiss in an individual’s life that would drive that person to end his or her life. Oftentimes, suicide or suicidal attempts are avoidable and sometimes, they are not. One example is this fellow pictured above who attempted suicide by shooting his left temple but failed. I suppose that is good news, and that life is willing to give him another shot at it. (Pun may be intended.) It appears as if he is wearing some sort of military or police uniform. The incident happened in Thailand, though no other information than that were provided.
I can’t help but think of the long-term effects of failed suicide attempts. Most who attempted, and survived, are glad to be alive. Let’s wish he uses this second chance for something good and worthwhile and to not try it again.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about this.
UPDATE
I really gotta say this, you guys are excellent researchers.
The man pictured above is a police sub-lieutenant, 59 years old and a resident of Saengsupar Village in Eastern Pattaya.
He learned that he was suffering from an end-stage lung cancer and did not want to burden his family further -reason why he tried to kill himself. He left a letter near where he was found, ending the letter with the sentence, “See you in the next life.”
He is currently in the ICU unit of Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, where he is in critical condition.
I am expressing my gratitude to H. Thompson for the article update. Thank you very much.
